Valerie Olsen - Office Manager Valerie Olson has spent the last 35 years being a part of the Blue Cross Vet team. Val is our original employee that stuck with the team all these years. She comes with the clinic! Val began working at BCVC for Dr. Cope in 1987. At home, Valerie and her husband Verdell, maintain their own cattle ranch . If all the day-to-day chaos home settles down, and there is a spare moment lying around, Val can be found tending to her flower gardens or spending time with her grandchildren. |

Shawna Troughton - Receptionist
Shawna has been part of the Blue Cross team since 19__, she has filled almost all positions at one point or another, from helping out with office to assisting the doctor in surgery. Today she helps run the front office and heads up most all of our technical tasks. We have lovingly dubbed her our 'I.T. Gal'. Shawna was born and raised in the Salmon Valley. She and her husband have their own little farm at home including dogs, cats, chickens, goats, cows and one lonely peacock facing an identity crisis. With the animals, kids and grandkids, there is never a dull moment in the Troughton home! |

Emmy King - Receptionist Emmy was born in Tennessee and moved to Salmon ID in 2004 when she was 7 years old. After graduating from SHS she moved to Nampa ID and attended NU to study biology and Psychology. Emmy and her husband Austin moved back to Salmon in 2021. She joined the team here at BCVC in 2025 as a receptionist and she is awesome. Emmy is not only an animal lover, but a great people person. She's perfect to have as one of the first faces you see when you walk in the door. |

Lisa Johnson - CVT Lisa Johnson is originally from Rigby Idaho. She graduated from CSI as a CVT in 2009. From there she moved to Leadore with her husband Chip. They're raising their 2 sons Cooper and Jax, their new baby girl K.C. and tending to their cattle ranch. Lisa also brought her childhood passion of 4-H Sheep into adulthood and raises 4-H lambs to sell to kids who want to start their own 4-H journey. We give Lisa extra points for commuting from Leadore to the clinic...yikes. |

Missy Conner - Vet Assistant Missy joined the BCVC crew in 2017. She moved to Salmon from Nevada in 2012 where she worked for various vet hospitals for 8 years. Missy is always accompanied by an entourage of critters regardless if it's at work, or at home. The clinic cats follow her wherever she goes (as you can see on the left) and at home she is adored by her 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 ball pythons and a partridge in a pear tree. |

Brittany Dodson - Vet Tech Brittany grew up in Salmon, so loving animals and the outdoors comes naturally. Most days you'll find her taking care of her furry patients but when she's off the clock, she's usually off the grid also. Camping, rafting, backpacking or 4 wheeling through the mountains is her jam. Brittany's sidekick is Goose, her spirited little Corgi who's always up for an adventure and according to Brittany, way too confident for his size. Brittany joined BCVC in 20204 and is an amazing addition to the team. |

Megan Jacobs CVT Megan was raised in Salmon ID, graduating SHS in 2002. She earned her CVT license in 2007 from CSI. She and her husband moved back to Salmon in 2021and Megan re-joined the BCVC team. After having 2 children, Emma (3) and Cody (6months) her life became much busier so she now only works at BCVC as on call or fill in help. But she says coming to work is more like a vacation! |
